Sanitation in Developing Countries
Although it is often taken into account only as an optional by-service of water supply, sanitation remains essential regarding public health (garbage and waste water can transmit diseases), environmental consequences (water pollution for example) and economy (stoppage of work due to diseases). Techniques used in developed countries (sewer network, etc.) were often transferred directly to developing countries where they are not adapted financially and socially.
Experians' Work
Experians aims at gathering experiences in solid and liquid sanitation in developing countries. All components of sanitation are dealt with, such as urban drainage, waste water, excreta and solid waste. Local policies, alternative and low-cost techniques but also reports on the field situation and spontaneous solutions proposed by city dwellers, etc.: here are the aspects of this problem that the organization is dealing with.
Experians' will is to observe sanitation problems with an open and objective mind. As a consequence, the reports and analysis of the organization aim at development "beginners" as well as "professionals".
You will find in this website some information concerning our projects and our organization. The analysis of the situation observed on the field is detailed in our reports available on-line.
